Download RecBoot 2.1 – Recovery Mode Tool

by Sameer Ahmed on October 18, 2011

Let me introduce a useful tool to all those who like to tinker with their iDevices, it is the RecBoot. Recboot is a small application developed to provide the function of putting in and out an iDevice of recovery mode. It is the best alternate for the restore option of the iTunes, which works perfectly well with stock iDevice but rarely succeeds in case of a jailbreak iDevice. This tool turns out to very handy in restoring the customized firmware and then applying the jailbreaks.

RecBoot RecBoot is a small wonder that can simply drag in or out your iDevice of recovery mode with a single click. It is open source software which may also be useful to those whose iPhone Home key does not function properly. The latest version of RecBoot is 2.1 which offer the following features:

  • The “Exit Recovery” button remains dysfunctional in case the recovery mode in not active on the iDevice.

  • An automatic update system has been implemented in the software for updating the software to the latest version automatically.

  • The application exits out when the window exit button I s clicked or by pressing the keyboard shortcut CMD + Q.s

  • The software displays string of information on the screen of the connected iDevice while operating.

  • RecBoot 2.1 is now supported by the Mac OS X 10.5.x

How to Use RecBoot?

  • Get your free copy of RecBoot 2.1 from here.

  • It is available in three different versions for Windows, Mac and Linux.

  • For proper functioning in Windows, you will need a proprietary iTunes DLL in the root folder.

  • Windows users must have the proprietary iTunes DLL in the root folder or they will brick their phone on using RecBoot.

  • Connect your iDevice to your computer and execute the program.

  • On the application screen you will get two options “Enter” or “Exit recovery mode”. Click them as per your requirement.

  • Mac user will get the options; “RecBoot” and “RecBoot Exit”.

  • This application can help you recover your iDevice from the nuisance continuous recovery loop when you downgrade your iDevice to iOS 3.1.2 from iOS 4.
