Today we have a great news which will mainly interest all those people who may happen to be using an Android powered HTC smartphone. Some of those are going to get very lucky because HTC has started to roll out its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to a very few selected devices, while a larger number of devices will be getting the ICS in the near future. Google rolled out its latest iteration of mobile operating system back in October 2011 and since then only a select number of devices have received the ICS update due to some various and usually unnecessary complications.
We have been hearing about the highly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update being released for Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung has started to roll out the release to a select number of countries while others will follow very soon.
HTC on the other hand has made an official statement on their blog. According to HTC Global Community manager, Darren Krape, company is currently working in the early stages of Android 4.0 update process which means that at this time only a select number of devices will be getting ICS right now. According to the blog post:
We’re in the early stages of rolling out Android 4.0 for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE and upgrades will be more widely available in the next few weeks. The update for the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL will follow. Please note, once we start pushing out updates it will take time for all carriers in each country to get the update. We are working closely with our carrier partners to nail down update schedules for our other smartphones and will have more to share very soon.
As you can see, HTC will be rolling out Android ICS update for Sensation and Sensation XE smartphones first while Sensation 4G and Sensation XL will be getting the ICS goodness next. It does not mean that all the other HTC smartphone owners are forgotten at all. HTC has planned to push updates for other fourteen smartphones as well, following is the list of smartphones which will be getting ICS treatment in the near future:

I know that all of you have been waiting for the official update of Android 4 for your handset since the fourth quarter of 2011 but now its only a matter of a few weeks and you will be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich magic on your smartphone very soon.
