With the rumors coming thick and fast over the new features and designs from Apple over their new iPhone 5, no one is quite sure what to expect. This is particularly true especially with one source saying one thing and another source something completely different. There are new rumors circling every two minutes and it does seem to be all very confusing and frustrating but there are rumors which are fact at times.
First of all, everyone knows there is Passbook, this is the fresh new app for iOS and Apple users expect to see this everywhere especially with the new device that is being launched soon – or expected to launch anyway. This is expected to be great amongst many of the rivals out there but there has been a U-turn because the iPhone 5 may not actually be getting the updated mobile payment service app yet if the rumors are true.
This has come as quite a shock because everyone believed the mobile payment services would be rivalling the Google Wallet which has done very well as well as most of the other mobile app payment services out there right now. Even though Apple discussed this a while ago and especially after Google Wallet came on the market, Apple was thought to be using this with the 5 device later this year. However, it does seem that mobile payment services are not going to be in Apple’s immediate plans any time soon.
Most gadget users were expecting this app to come around but it seems it is not to be – at least not yet. Apparently Apple developers believe that the wallet app is going to be too complicated for every day users and that even though it could potentially be popular at first, it could be difficult to understand. Even if people understand it, it’s too complex to really be able to manage the app probably which would look bad on Apple so maybe they have dodged an unhealthy bullet.
There was also concerns from Apple’s top people over security issues of these apps and whether the services would provide the best to their customers or if they are just going to be a hindrance in some way. Remember, if it didn’t work out, Apple would probably take the full assault from consumers which they wouldn’t want so it looks for the moment that Apple is ditching the plans. It seems that Apple is focusing on Passbook and trying to make that as secure as possible.
