We have already seen some important tidbits from the spat between Google and Oracle, and therefore we are going to see Android in its early days in this article along with the process by which it was brought to market. No one has the proper information about it and still it is under debate, according to some the process revolves around how Google found its first ever carrier partner known as T-Mobile and at that time Android was quite infancy.
From the latest round of Google VS Oracle legalese, an information has been received which states that Android has received some early prototypes of Android from Google to have an easy win for the carrier i.e. T-Mobile. On the other hand T-Mobile was receiving data plan fee and a monthly contract fee as well, so Google solved the problem by offering a nice software solution, as it has done today. The interesting part was the hardware that Google was pushing.
Like prototypes we have also seen the similarity between the handsets of Android, in 2008, and BlackBerry. After seeing the hardware buttons with a small screen it seems that Android was way too far from the touch and even big screen of the iPhone while the design on the other hand presented by Google was only including two soft buttons without any other recommendations.
While talking about the hardware, Google at that time had an RMv9 processor with 200 MHz, GSM or 3G connectivity, 64 MB of RAM, external storage and a camera of 2 mega-pixels. The smartphone at that time also included the QVGA screen along with a hardware shutter button.
Google did not remove the platform of Android till the October of 2008, because of two impressive years after the carrier shown its harware design which was really very good. The slides which were used in the presentation of T-Mobile have also helped Oracle somehow in the case against Google and Java has been mentioned a lot of times in it saying that the technology in fact was the integral to the process Android is put together. Android has improved a lot, I mean that the designs of the hardware as well as the softwares has been changed a lot while on the other hand BlackBerry is slowing down.
